Settled for the Moon | 2025

The quote “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you’ll land among the stars” by Norman Neal never made much sense to me until I hit a season of burnout. In my solo gallery, “Ways the Sky Unfolds”, stars came to visually represent dreams for me. I burned out from trying to reach the stars and was blind to the beauty of the moon I had reached. I had done great work, but did it matter when I couldn’t grasp the thing I actually wanted?
”Settled for the Moon” became a comfort piece while I recovered from burnout. It holds that sense of yearning for something else, even though I am holding something just as beautiful in front of me.
